My Dearest Daughters,

Yes, my sweet ones, you may be made of sugar and spice and all that’s nice, but you are so much more. Oh, how great this gift is to be a woman. You are pretty as a picture, but beneath your beauty lies a strength born of the driving force of women that came before you. This strength is quiet, bold, and impenetrable. Call upon it. Use it. Be the warrior that you are. Let this strength pull you up when you are down, dust you off, and propel you forward to start again.

Cry, laugh, shout out loud, love generously and be vulnerable. Vulnerability is for the strong and the confident. Go there. Say what you mean. Say what you feel. Say what you have to say. Be unapologetically you. Know your worth. Just being you makes you worthy of all that is good. Demand a seat at the table and don’t accept a place on a shelf. You are not a doll.

As a woman you have been blessed with a woman’s intuition. Don’t doubt it. The more you listen you to it, the stronger it will become. It is your beacon rising from deep within you, guiding you to safe shores. It speaks truth to you whether or not you choose to listen, but you will know when you don’t. Call upon your angels because they are your sister-warriors. They stand beside you, in front of you, and behind you, tugging you in the right direction. They reveal themselves in ways that uniquely resonate with you. Be open and you will see.

Tap into your sisterhood of friendships. They are a support that snips and snails, and puppy-dog’s tails don’t have. Save yourself for those that deserve you. Let go of those that don’t, wish them well and gently close the door. By letting go of those that no longer fit, you leave the door open for those that do. Know that not all relationships are meant for a lifetime. Some come into your life for a purpose at a moment in time and then they leave. Treasure those that stay because they are gifts from God.

Remember that you can do it all, but you don’t have to. You can wear make-up but you don’t need it. You can wear lace or leather or both. You can be single or married, you choose. You can drink from a koozie or a wine glass. You are the calm in a storm, but you are also the storm. You are upapologetically whimsical and emotional. You are also thoughtful and reflective. You are all love and dearly loved.

You are all of this and so much more.

Be fearless.

From my heart to yours,

Mom
